Walton & Co.

A very early picture of the staff of Walton & Co. The business was founded in 1868 and at the height of its success had fourteen departments which dominated the retail trade in Mere for a century. There were branches in Zeals, Bourton, Maiden Bradley and East Knoyle. John Walton and Co. still trade in Mere as newsagent and Post Office.
