St Michael's Church

St Michael's Church
St Michael's Church

The Church of St.Michael the Archangel is said to be one of the finest parish churches in Wiltshire. There is some evidence of a Saxon church on the site but the building today is mostly 15th century with later renovations and additions. It has a large square tower containing a peal of 8 bells. The 15th . century chancel screen and 17th .century pews are outstanding and there is an almost complete 14th . century brass of a knight in armour on the floor in a south side chapel. There is some good stained glass.
